Older maps show a trail from Silver Lake down the Forgotten Flat trail to the Silver Fork of the American River. It's largely been obliterated and the forest service has blocked the road to the parking area. Someone has ducked the early parts of the trail and, once I found those, was able to stay on the trail itself.
It's an excellent trail and I'm not sure why it's been removed?
